Biography

Combine Steve Nichols' bangin' music with his charged-up energy behind the decks and you've got a recipe for absolute mayhem on the dancefloor. With extensive experience across Australia and the UK this international superstar is quickly becoming one of the most sought-after DJs in the country.
His innovative sound crosses the hard dance spectrum, from funk to trance to pumping hard house. With a growing preference for hard, uplifting trance, his sets are always played to perfection and guaranteed to get the crowd stompin' and sweaty!
Industry leaders have described Steve’s performances as
"... wicked trance, going into harder territories before blending into lovely hard house rhythms ... loved the build-up and the mixing is superb ... could really take you on a dancefloor journey ...".
Steve had his first taste of what the electronic world had to offer in April '95. Eight mind-blowing hours spent in a Brisbane club single-handedly changed the way he looked at music and the dance scene. The desire to be the person who created that energy and atmosphere was too strong to resist ... and with the purchase of turntables soon after, the adventure began! Steve's DJing career quickly progressed from the bedroom to house parties to clubs and raves. Then in 1998, a six-month stint in the United States took him to a whole new level. Developing and diversifying his talent, Steve sent clubbers into a frenzy at venues like The Hideaway in Winter Park, Colorado, and Bourbon Street in Auburn, Alabama.

In '99 came the move to London, which saw Steve secure his place among the world's DJing elite. Scoring regular guest slots at club nights such as 24/7, Emigration, Fahrenhite, Fevah, Pickle, Provocation, Qwench, Random, Solid Sunday, Turmoil, Twisted and XLR8, at venues that have included Heaven and The Ministry of Sound, Steve just kept getting bigger and better.
During this time, he regularly played alongside the likes of Nick Sentience, BK, Phil Reynolds (including a memorable back2back set), Steve Blake, Justine Bourne, Steve Hill, Andy Farley, Stimulant DJs, James Lawson, Tidy Boys, Paul Glazby, Lab 4 and Ed Real.
Steve is now based in Australia but makes regular trips back to the UK for events that include Frantic (Camden Palace), Sunday School (Hanover Grand), Heat (Turnmills) and Hard House Academy at Brixton Academy. Production work is also on the agenda for the bi annual trips.

Since arriving back in Australia Steve has secured residencies at Frantic Sydney, Progress Sydney (monthly) and Altitude Melbourne. Coupled with this Steve has headlined nights for Hard Kandy, BassStation, Frantic Melbourne, Bubble, System 6 (Brisbane & Adelaide), Ultraworld 20, The Gathering (NZ), Fevah (NZ) and many more.

With seven years experience firing up clubbers across the globe, Steve has started utilising this knowledge in the production of his own music. To date he has completed a number of tracks in collaboration with KeLSTa, Ali Wilson, James Lawson & Steve Hill (as NHL Project out now on Tripoli Trax), Brad Thatcher and Yoshi.
